She's Just A Bit Of A Fixer-Upper
General Summary
The morning after Ciana's vision, the party met downstairs in the Pheasant Chamber to make plans for the heist. It was decided that Precision would use Percival's attraction towards her to distract him by taking him out on a date on the night of the heist. Meanwhile, Erevan would stay near the protest and attempt to incite a riot to distract the guards while Lethe would be the one to actually infiltrate the Great Arcaneum. In the meantime, he decided to transcribe some of the scrolls he had previously stolen from the Arcaneum. Precision set out to get prettied up for her date with Percival. On the road she ran into John Foote leaving the Whitestone Herald building with a tall gnome who introduced himself as Wilrose Shiverpike, the paper's editor. Shiverpike informed Precision that King Jorah's party the next night would be a masquerade ball. At her request he then pointed her towards Sasha's Salon as a good spot to get a makeover. There she was serviced by Beaker, an aarakocra woman who cut her hair short and curly and dyed it pink. beaker also made her up, gave her a few pointers on makeup, and sold her a palette that would apply itself. From there, Precision then headed to Sapphire Outfitters where she was sold a dress by Sebastien Tavish, a flamboyant half-elf. Lethe headed to Bullseye Retailers then to de Vasseur Jewelers seeking components for spells. On the road, he also bumped into Foote and Shiverpike. Shiverpike asked what the name of their adventuring band was, and Lethe said he would give it some thought. After acquiring his materials, Lethe headed to the courier's post and bought an envelope in which he put Viniza Valenti's dagger and a fake letter from John Foote asking her to meet him on the Amity at midnight. He headed to the Royal Plaza and hand-delivered the letter to her. Erevan headed to the Diamond Quarter to scope out the planned protest location. On the way he passed the military bar Chipped Shields where he encountered Josef, the man from Vikrun's gang that the party had let survive back in Bountyfair. He had joined the army now in an attempt to reform himself. After a brief chat, Erevan continued to the Diamond Quarter, where he found a few places to plant bricks. When returning to the Pheasant Chamber, he also spotted John Foote loading several barrels onto a rowboat at the end of a pier in the Emerald Quarter. Erevan hailed Foote and asked what was going on. When Foote dodged the question Erevan ignited his hands, prompting a quick tackle by Foote who nervously explained the barrels contained large quantities of flashdust and that Erevan bad just nearly blown up half the Quarter. Erevan then left to go back to the Pheasant Chamber where the party met up again. They decided that they would get in touch with Josef and learn where Viniza Valenti lived so they could steal the keys from her, but first headed to the docks where the Amity was moored to observe what would happen between she and Foote. Around midnight they saw Valenti, flanked by several guards, approach the Amity and board it. After a scuffle and an argument it was revealed that this was actually not the Amity, but a trading ship from Vätteroth of a similar build. Foote himself was nowhere to be found. As the guards disassembled the party headed to Chipped Shields, where they got in touch with some friends of Josef's and got them to call him over to the bar. When he arrived, he again thanked the party for sparing his life, and told them where Viniza lived. Later that night, the party approached her house where Lethe was able to sneak in and steal her keys. They got in touch with Saestril Boecelin to have a copy made, which went off without a hitch. The keys were returned and the party went back to the Pheasant Chamber for the night.Chapter Nine
