World Pillar

Pre-Reckoning, the World Pillar was a sprawling aemir tree that linked the Skyrealm to the Deeprealm. The path along its boughs was treacherous and guarded zealously by Consecra's tribe, as the Ildsif wished to keep the bountiful magic of the Skyrealm to themselves and out of the hands of the Nvaonese.   Unbeknownst to most mortals, the Apostle Arovutos made his home amongst the roots of the great aemir tree. Following the Reckoning, it would become the epicenter and deepest point of Aypavoc, flooded by magic-rich waters in which Irev would slumber.   Following the Reckoning, which destroyed the World Pillar holding the two realms apart, the two were merged into a single plane. However, the curiously gravity-defying nature of some parts of the Skyrealm persist in certain locations on modern Aypavoc, resulting in sky islands and chunks of harmless floating debris. Researchers have deduced the levitation to be caused by a certain type of crystallized aemir amber dubbed 'koranite'. Though the exact mechanisms which allow the magic to operate have yet to be fully understood, arcanists theorize it to have predated the arrival of the goddess, as it is not consumed nor activated is in other cases of divine magic . Thus, the curious phenomenon is thought to be native to Aypavoc, and is commonplace enough for the working folk to not think twice about it.
