Acting Director Jacob Kane

Jacob Kane has been with the FBI for many years assisting many departments and often working as task force organizer but did not seem to rise up to management. A man not to confide in others, he often comes across as terse to his subordinates. In his personal life he was divorced and his wife has full custody of their two daughters. He would work long hours resulting in little time for his family and often focusing on work even when at home. To add to these difficulties he would often be seen drinking at after hours events and functions. He became increasingly terse with his subordinates. For all his efforts he seemed stuck and as he was going up in years the possibility of a management position grew bleaker.
Then an opportunity to be assistant director to William Talbot with his new department dealing with Slappers arose. He has been critical in finding resources and staff to assist with investigations. Though paired with William Talbot their strengths complimented each other  leadership styles. It seemed he was cleaning up his act and even cutting back on his drinking.
He focused all his energy on the slappers situation, often seeming obsessed with the problem. As the investigation continued and they kept running into dead ends or leads disappearing, he grew increasingly frustrated and irritable and would take this out on the staff. It required Director Talbot to intervene and have a talk with him. Once again he cleaned up his act and seemed to have even greater clarity. Just ad all seemed on verge of breakthrough, the incident involving Eric Harmon shooting one of the fellow agents. Following the trial an investigation internally resulting in many department changes including his promotion onto direction, which he has expressed was just acting position until the situation gets resolved and William Talbot's return. A few months later he takes part in hiring phase including of Dr. Elijah Heartman  and Karen Burnham. He also encouraged internal promotion such as Agent Harding as his new assistant director position.
While speaking with Dr. Heartman about the assignment of creating a profile of former employee Eric Harmon to see if he might be potential lead. He has also been spotted in Eric's Video Recordings making appearance at Club Paradise.
