Þamtic

Þamtic: Þamtafei /θamthaːfeiː/
Þiðic: Jeif'vi /ɥeiːfʼvɪ/

Þamtic1 is currently the most widespread jútrilían elven language in Borgalor, spoken primarily by the Þamtans in western Jælondis on one hand and the eastern Southlands on the other, and among Jolþi, Þiðans and Æjalans as a second language. It belongs to the southern branch of the jæmic language family, with Jolþic and æjalan spoken in Þjaris forming the northern one, being most closely related to the south jolþic dialects.
Jolþic and þamtic were once mutually intelligible, but diverged significantly after the Þjaric Elves withdrew from the wider world for centuries, during which foreign words were replaced by neologisms or older terms and the pronunciation shifted in part due to Ælic influence.

Writing System

Þamtic is written using an abugida, meaning that consonants are depicted with letters and vowels with small markings, which originally was more irregular and featured complex letter before being simplified some sixty years ago to make it easier for typing and printing, as well as to make it more closely reflect spoken þamtic at the time. Use of the older form is now mostly restricted to scholars of certain fields and hobbyists.

Numerals

Þamtic numbers are written using a variation of the vigesimal (base-20) numeral system common amongst other jútrilían and southlandic elven cultures.
