Harhitó Hills

High-Æjalan: Harhitó /haːrhɪːthouː/
Low-Æjalan: Arltó /aːrlthouː/
The Harhitó Hills1 is a region in central Þjaris in northwestern Jælondis, between Þlónó Lake to the north and the river Njalpaða to the south and southeast. The eastern hills are ruled by the country of Ælea, while the western and central parts are claimed by Æjala, and it's where the latter's capital of Ænla is located.

Fauna & Flora

The flora of the Harhitó Hills are characterized by birch, cedar and juniper, each of which is harvested for different ingredients by the inhabitants, namely syrup and birch bark2, bentwood, and berries. Birch syrup is one of the few sweeteners in traditional þjaric elven cuisine, while the juniper berries are sometimes added into millet beer or used as medicine. More recently, the berries have also become an important export to the country of Þagralía on the southeastern Maralon Steppe, where they are used to flavour the popular Jurn Ale.
Notable wildlife in the hills include bears, flying squirrels and wild Taiga Grouse.
