Wrodand (/pʰi˧ ɛ˧ ko˥ o˧mu˧˥n/)

Geography

Wrodand, a land of vast expanses, stretches over approximately 6,802,666 square miles. This enormous area forms the eastern half of the central landmass in the mystical world of Caanae. The uniqueness of Wrodand lies in the fact that it is regarded as a continent in its own right, despite being part of a larger landmass. This distinction is primarily due to the drastic difference in climate when compared to its western counterpart, Akath. While both are part of the same landmass, the climatic variation is so significant that it makes Wrodand feel like a whole different world.

Climate

Wrodand is the expansive continent that is the major receiver of the monsoon rains that originate from the Em Olae, often referred to as the Heart Ocean. The climate conditions brought about by these regular rains result in the land being wet, humid, and hot for the majority of the year. This creates a vast, lush, and verdant landscape that stretches all the way from the northernmost tip situated at 51 degrees north, down to the southernmost point at 20 degrees south. The constant supply of rainwater and the warm temperatures create a perfect environment for the flourishing of a diverse array of flora and fauna, making Wrodand a vibrant and teeming cradle of life.

History

Wrodand, a verdant and bountiful land, has long been recognized as the cradle of civilization for many sentient species that now hold dominion over the vast expanses of Caanae. According to ancient lore and archaeological evidence, it is believed to be the birthplace or origin point for these species. Over centuries, these intelligent species gradually emerged from the dense, mysterious jungles of Wrodand, adapting and evolving, until they eventually began their great migrations. These migrations led them to spread far and wide across the world, carrying their diverse cultures, languages, and traditions with them, thereby shaping the world as we know it today.
