Maerin
Maerin is a small town close to the base of the Cloud Peaks in the Sword Coast. This town is a great stopping point for traders, and does most of it's business as a small trading post and rest stop for merchants due to it's proximity to the Coast Way.
Industry & Trade
Much of the industry of Maerin comes from traveling merchants, traders, etc. going between Amn, the Cloud Peaks, and Beregost. The community has been built to support these passerbys, and many of the permanent residents work at the Bored Weasel or by selling goods and services to visitors.
Points of interest
The Bored Weasel is a prominent inn and tavern in the town. It's known for it's nice beds, spacious bathouse, and it's signature dish the Salty Fish Surprise. It's owner, Lukas Grosvenor, was a survivor of the mining accident in Vermeillon.
The town also boasts a central market where passing traders can sell their wares and a non-denominational church that serves the community and traveling population.
There is an active community of stoats living in the woods of Maerin. They enjoy snatching food and trinkets from the traders in the central market.
Natural Resources
Maerin is close to the Cloud Peaks, which means there are ample opportunities for mining and tree farming nearby.
