Session XXX-XXXI: Leaving Batuu Report

General Summary

1st of Decembruary

So we resume our story when our adventurers arrive in Driord. They've just made a long trip back from Xilulth's lair and after a long rest in the red seadog (and for one member to the forest). After some well deserved downtime, going shopping, picking up their tent, going to see Namralth (although she didn't appear to be home). And after a brief chat with their favourite shopkeeper, skarsnik landed up in the Frelgard Thieves' Guild's prison cell. This eventually led to a fireball explosion in the streets at night with the party attempting to break him out. Much to their surprise the chaos was interupted by a new figure. Didron, Enys' twin brother, he informed the party of some serious and somber news. Their mother, namralth has gone missing and is presumed dead. Enys, unable to step up to her position as archmage of the Bratian Empire, got replaced by Didron in turn.

2nd of Decembruary

Didron offered a talk the next day. The MM showed up late and requested Didron to meet outside of the city instead of in his tower as discussed. Didron polymorphed Enys so she could walk inside the city and run some errands for her studying. And they discussed what happened in their absence and all of the current information on what happened to Namralth. Didron gave them some useful items and transported them to Bresee and back in order for them to gather information. After talking with Elijah Farman, Jarghull's adopted father, they got some information on the big commanding ship floating above driord. They then ventured up to the space station where they met with a long lost friend, who was interesting to be sure. He gave them some useful potions and information with some flair. Afterwards meeting Lena and discussing the plans for the future. They left Axton behind to help Lena with the repairs and also so he could learn how ships operate before heading back to the capital. They consequently discussed a deal with The Continental. They would pay 400 gp for information about the ship and it's headings. And would be payed that amount threefold upon destroying the Frelgard Thieves' Guild back on Granviles. In their excitement for their new tent and also to sympathise with enys the evening of the 2nd of Decembruary, they went camping outside of the city. They took turns taking watch and each watch was pretty eventful in their own right.

First watch was taken by enys and Bonfire. after some small talk and bonding. Enys heard a weird noise and got freaked out, claiming to have seen displacer beasts stalking them.
Second watch was taken by Jarghull and Filthel. They talked for a bit and nothing too special happened except for the fact that a single orange-red flower sprouted in front of Filthel and they spotted some night critters.
Third watch was taken by Omaira. The previous night she was contacted by Mira with urgent news that something important she was apart of is supposedly happening and that it was starting on Ur Borm. But this watch was only filled with a little white rabbit, sleeping in her lap.
Last watch was taken by Katara and skarsnik. They talked for a while but quickly noted a long haired tabby cat. The cat turned out to be Thamkis from the Old Lantern in Driord, going out on a morning stroll for materials.

3rd of Decembruary

The morning started as per usual. With Katara crowing like a rooster and Filthel trying to kick her bo staff out from underneath her. However, this time he was succesfull, knocking her staff into a nearby bush. Katara retrieved the staff but saw a single turquoise plumbago flower. Omaira druidcrafted the flower so it spread and the bush partly bloomed. However this beautiful sight was quickly interrupted by enys smashing face first into the ground, destroying the bush in the process. The next day was filled with some profound conversations and confirming the deal made with The Continental. They learned that the ship was a Commanding class SOSA ship, captained by Odin öbermüt and he, along with a couple of his henchmen, came down to driord and took The Green Orb of Dragonkind with him. Meaning he either eliminated Namralth or captured her. Jarghull then had a small altrication with the sending spell whilst contacting skarsnik but they were quickly on their way, once again using Didron to teleport towards Bresee. They had some trouble getting enys up there but it was easy enough.

The End

Getting up to the space station once again, they see interesting races from all walks of life (like the giff for example). skarsnik retrieved his staplers and left a message behind for himself. Afterwards they went to the 13-N4/VY in the hangar, the minor helm Lena was previously discussing with an Arcane salesman was now installed. They met up with enys once again who had to be transported by container up to the ship. They talked about the roles and basic workings of space travel, declaring Lena captain and Axton first mate. Assigning Omaira to the science chair and Katara and skarsnik taking turns on the weapons chair. The 13-N4/VY was taxied out of the hangar and onto the docks, getting ready to take off. Axton took his seat in the minor helm as Lena took the wheel. Slowly taking of the remote arm of the dock as they floated further away from the station. As Lena instructed Omaira to prep the warp. The stars formed into streaks as the portal in front of them opened. And the phlogiston around them formed. The colors starting from the white of the stars going from red to purple through the color spectrum, swirling around them in a beautiful mess of energy. Now the Magnificent Misfits have left Batuu's crystal sphere, heading towards Granviles in their own ship. But that's where this chapter ends. Floating out of space and through a different passage of time.
