Roven

Roven is a city that sits between Jotun's North and South Sea. Founded two centuries ago as the Koan Empire expanded their territory north, the early settlers funded their city by selling Geit Cheiftains "guest rights" that entitled them to certain privileges and hospitality when visitng the city in their voyages between the two seas.   The land upon which they settled was originally occupied by White Druids, who gathered there by a group of standing stones that housed a hearth daemon named Stone Face. From its inception, Roven had a bloody relationship with the local White Druids who inhabited the area. Both sides found reason for vengeance when the city's founder and namesake, Roven, attempted to slaughter the druid but was lured into the Shrikevind by his quarry.   Roven grew into a bustling port of trade that focuses on hospitality. It continued to honor the ancient guest rights, and each clan pays different rates to visit the city and conduct trade depending on the treaties they originally made with the city's founder. Over time, Roven's leadership grew increasingly complacent and corrupt. When the Shrikevind blew a payload of ancient artifacts into the ice near their city, they set up an illegal market to profit off the treasures they found.   In a strange twist of fate, the City's founder resurfaced centuries later without his memories. The Party helped him recover and take back the city from his capricious descendants. However, the return of an old enemy proved the last straw for the White Druids, who left upon Roven's return.
