Hero's Landing

Officially named Square of Mercenaries, Hero's Landing is a public plaza surrounded by the renowned mercenary company houses. It is located in the middle of the Sell-Sword Road between the big and small market in Nexus District.
In modern Nexus, this square is used to send off or welcome back mercenary armies on Nexus business, or whose contract was famous enough to catch the Council's eyes.

From the surrounding company houses, each mercenary group keep an eye on the competition. Almost daily, braws or duels or just verbal fights can be observed in the square.

Points of Interests

DEITY DAIS

Located on the north side, this open stone pavilion is also called Hero's Podium. Returning armies are officially welcomed here.
A large painting of all 9 member of the current Council of Entities is displayed here, guarded by hooded executioners. The popularity of the council members with the common folk has brought them to often call this podium the Dirty Dais.
In RY 831, the painting of the Council was replaced with a large statue of the Emissary of Nexus, showing him as the official ruler of Nexus now.

MERCENARY HALL

In view of the dais stands the most popular and well known mercenary drinking hall. This place was once a barrack, now transformed into a tavern and mess hall.
All those who come here are mercenaries, or business partners of mercenaries, or people who claim associations with mercenaries. Those who do not fall into any of these category are either stupid or clearly tired of living.
Mary a lucrative deal was made in this hall. Some others were fought over in impromptu show of force. If one wants all mercenary to know one thing, they bring it here.
It is tradition in this hall to pay for the damage each do to the furniture. Hence, the windows in this hall are all a patchwork of different glass, ranging for cheap barely transparent ties to masterfully crafted imported glass from Chiaroscuro. If one of the table was broken in the hall and was replaced, it is the tradition of the warriors to mark it until no difference can be seen between the new one and the old, scared ones.

COMPANY HOUSES

Surrounding the entire square are the headquaters of the most notable mercenary groups. Among them are the famous Errand Knights.
