Taros and Phoenix are twin siblings, with Phoenix having been born first by a few minutes. Taros found their father's mistreatment of Phoenix due to her gender unfair, but didn't say much to allow himself to got to a Meru academy, where he would steal older books from the library to give to Phoenix so she could learn. Some time before Phoenix married Einalix, he was hired by Einalix's aging father to be the court High Mage for Einalix's tyrannical brother. The twins' father saw this as an opportunity to get rid of Phoenix by marrying her off to Einalix. Taros helped Phoenix and Einalix's rebellion in secret until he was discovered, at which point he had to kill them, the couple's children, and himself with a spell he invented, Fire Storm. After becoming Inamorta, he helped take over Driftveil.

The two met a few years after Phoenix freed Almar. Bot are friendly, as Taros sees Almar as awesome.

They met when Taros was hired by Einalix's father to be Cravor's High Magus. They bonded in their hatred of Cravor's ego, arrogance, greed, and narcissism. This bond was challenged a bit after Phoenix married Einalix, although after Phoenix feel for Einalix in 873 AR, their bond grew, especially after the birth of Mopella.

Iduna once attacked Menrva during its early days, having been brainwashed into thinking Menrvan forces slaughtered her tribe and others nearby. However, after learning the truth, she immediately apologized personally and simply wished for them do be merciful to her. Phoenix, knowing her trauma, allowed her a seat in the Darke Council. Taros adopted Iduna soon after she joined the Darke Council, and treats Iduna well.
