Toriel
Queen Toriel Sakuir Dreemurr
Physical Description
Special abilities
Being the daughter of two Andustros, and being one herself, Toriel has her very own Pink Projected.
Alongside this, Toriel was born with a strain of Fire magic, where she can create fire upon any surface that will burn, and adjust its temperature to far below or above common temperatures for fire- even being capable of making a fire that is cooler than the surrounding air, if on a hot summer day.
Mental characteristics
Failures & Embarrassments
Toriel's insistence upon hard-line pacifism was the only reason that Teritheya was not prepared when The Kingdom of Monsters, under a Shifted Cosmos's rule, declared war upon them using the claim that it had been the work of a/several Fairy(s) who had murdered the Consilium Magorum, The Council of the Magicians. If not for her arguing with Azure Sapphire, he would have had more time to prepare for the inevitable battles to come. Perhaps, even, Asgore might not have died, if only Toriel had sat down and shut up.
Mental Trauma
When Toriel returned from her two-week-long vacation with Asgore, her adopted eldest son Gaster was waiting at the beach for them, several dead Shifted bodies in his wake. He informed them, with as little emotion as he could manage, that Asriel, Before Death was dead, a shapeshifter had taken his place, and Chara had disappeared. Toriel's heart was broken by this news. Thinking her only biological son dead, and surely Chara as well, she trekked behind the only family she knew that she had left and swore to herself that no more senseless death would occur. Not if she could help it.
Toriel watched Asgore die on the battlefield, his body dusted by a small Prisa held by Cosmos. Toriel was utterly helpless to do anything, and she cried her eyes out for days afterward. When the grief finally passed, and she was able to stand and speak and do something, she decided that she never wanted to feel that sort of helplessness again.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
From her childhood, Toriel is intent upon keeping her family together whatever the cost.
After believing she had lost Asriel, Before Death and Chara, Toriel promised herself that she would prevent any more senseless death to the best of her ability. Though she adjusted her opinion of what "senseless death" constitutes after her long, drawn-out argument with Azure Sapphire, she still remembers and renews this promise every day for as long as the war goes on.
After watching Asgore die in the first real battle of the war, Toriel swore to never again let grief take hold of her, to never again be so helpless as she was then. This promise caused her to start strengthening her magic, her thinking, her ability to win, like never before.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Though Toriel puts on a tough facade after Asgore is killed, she has very little control over her emotions and any attempt to control them always becomes an attempt to hide them, never getting to the root of the problem, accepting the loss, or releasing the feeling. Due to this, she finds it difficult to appeal to the emotions of her men, her friends, or even her family, since the only emotions she allows to come to the surface are the faintest, more plastic versions of what she feels.
Alternatively, a skill emerged after the first battle that Toriel and those around her had not been aware of before: managing warfare. Strategic planning, inspiration, leadership, these are things that a good general must be able to do for his men. And Toriel proved to be a good general, for however misguided she may have become, no one could deny that she was an efficient and effective killer of men.
Virtues & Personality perks
Even through her time as a warrior-queen, Toriel still held on tight to the promise that she made to herself when Gaster delivered word that she had lost her sons Chara and Asriel, Before Death to a shapeshifter, that no more senseless death would happen on her watch. Both when Grillby convinced Toriel to relent in her arguing at Beuteus, and when Asgore was killed in battle, she chose to adjust what she felt was considered "senseless" death. But she continues to draw the line based on what she believes God would do, and what God's word says to her. So though she could torture certain spies for information, or kill certain civilians to weaken her enemies, Toriel refuses to stoop that low.
Vices & Personality flaws
Toriel has always found it difficult to rein in her emotions. Ever since she was a child, surrounded by girls and women and having lost her father at a young age, Toriel cried and cried over the slightest of disappointments, flew into a rage at percieved slights, and shook and sobbed with fear at the sight of a little spider. Though she improved naturally with age and maturity, she never learned to overpower the emotions that she feels, and submits to them when they appear to control her.
Social
Religious Views
One of the way that Toriel's mother succeeded in her role was in teaching little Toriel to read the Bible. God's word became Toriel's safe haven when her father passed away, and when her sisters or mother were feeling unwell physically or emotionally, Toriel would retreat into the corner of her room and read from the book of Acts. Not only was she fascinated by the history contained in the Bible, dating from the very beginning of the world to thousands of years later, but Toriel found so much wisdom between those pages. This wisdom led her to pray fervently when Asgore asked for her hand in marriage, and she felt that God told her to say yes, though she was so anxious that surely she would have said no if not for that message.
Unlike a fair few on the continent of Disiden, Toriel believes in God on Earth and the mercy that He is willing to give her. She had accepted it wholeheartedly, but sometimes she forgets that Heaven awaits her, and falls into despair over the evils of the world. This, especially, during the Great War.
Social Aptitude
Before the Great War, Toriel was a queen beloved for her kindness, beauty, charm and polite manners. She spent time in the commoners' market, bought flowers from local florists, and walked in the gardens of Capital city with her children, allowing them to play with the others. Toriel was renowned as a gentle icon of femininity, until the Great War hit while she was on vacation with Asgore.
After the Great War, when the people of The Kingdom of Monsters saw their Queen return, Toriel had changed. She wore almost pure black from head-to-toe, and carried a sheathed sword wherever she went. She was no longer open to everyone that she met, suspicious of even the kindest of smiles. She ducked her head instead of holding it high, letting the whispers sweep over her. She had forgotten who she was, but they never did. And those kind people, some quiet and some loud, some brash and some shy, eventually did manage to remind the Queen who she had been.
Mannerisms
Uses hands extensively when speaking.
Speech
After the Great War began, Toriel researched whatever she could regarding speech-giving, sometimes thinking back to speeches that Asgore had given in Capital city. She began to plan speeches ahead of time, and sometimes planned movements that she would make: ripping her sword from its sheath while decrying the crimes of the Fae, or drawing her cloak around her arms as she spoke quietly about the loss that they had all faced. Though this new education in speech-giving occasionally came off as a little too prepared or even emotionless, the majority of the time it seemed to be working. The people rallied to her like a moth to a flame, and followed her lead.
Relationships
History
Toriel and Asgore have always loved each other dearly, and with a passion that anyone could see. But recently Toriel has noticed the distance growing between her and her dear husband, who is so busy with his kingdom that he does not have as much time for her as she wishes. So she distanced herself, too, and now they must try and mend that gap.

Quotes & Catchphrases
After more than a week of uninterrupted mourning following Asgore's death, hardly able to hold a conversation without bursting into tears, Toriel emerged from her tent on a grey, cloudy day with no more tears in her eyes.
There stood Azure Sapphire, and he moved to speak to her, to comfort her- but Toriel put up a hand, and she said to him, "I am done mourning."
"Then what will you do now?" he asked her.
Toriel turned and held Azure's gaze for several moments, before removing her hands from her black cloak, revealing a crown much like the one Asgore had been wearing when he died in her hands. She placed this crown upon her head, and drew a sword from the very new sheath at her side, and pointed it in the direction of the battlefield.
"Do you know how many bodies litter that battlefield? Hundreds. But how many are innocents, and how many are guilty of starting this bloodshed?"
Azure nodded, and he said, "Almost all are innocents. But what will you do?"
And, according to popular legend, this is what she said:
"I am going to count the innocents," she said. "And I will hunt down the guilty until ten are dead for each one of their bodies."
