The Crew

The Crew is a criminal, Super-run street gang in Cape St. Joan, Oregon. Within the city, it lays claim to territory in both The Harbour and The Gutters.   It is both the largest group of rogues in Cape St. Joan, and the oldest existing criminal organisation of the city.

History

The organisation now known as The Crew started out as a loosely associated smuggling ring in Cape St. Joan in the late 1920s. Then known as the Sailor Boys, and dubbed the "Harbour Rats" by the police, the group failed to make much of an impact in its early days. Over subsequent years it transformed more and more into a gang.   After the Roaring 50s and the subsequent decline of the ecenomy in The Harbour, the group suddenly experienced a major influx in members, making it one of the most influential non-official groups in the city. With support from significant parts of the local population, it began running protection money schemes and expanded its smuggling operations.   Around 1980, the group experienced a hostile takeover by a few superpowered gang members. It subsequently became less and less of a outlet for the disenfranchised and poor, disgruntled workers and more and more a tool for its leaders to expand their own powerbase.   In 2001, Tunguska became leader of the gang as his predecessor was arrested by the authorities and sent to Superhuman Detention Center, West Branch for life.   In 2013, then-member Soma split from the organisation after a disagreement her and Tunguska and went on to form Soma's Network. The two groups almost immediately entered a rivalry as they competed for much of the same business, territory and resources.   The Crew participated in the truce during the events of "D-Day" and the hunt on terrorist Jane Doe.

Volume 1: Balance

In 2023, The Crew became the first target of newly formed vigilante group Disequilibria. During the Battle in Wallace Street, four of their superpowered members were arrested by authorities. Tunguska and The Crew 'declared war' on the vigilantes in the following days, making the destruction of the vigilantes one of their primary short-term goals.   After challenging their enemies to a duel, they lost the subsequent Battle in the Docks, which lead to the arrest of all remaining superpowered members of the Crew.   In the following weeks, the Crew would descend into internal conflicts as non-powered members struggled to take control of the now leaderless gang.
