Dvergen
Unlike most races who were corrupted by dragon curses, the dvergen, or dark dwarves, joined the red dragon Anderion willingly. Several clans were dissatisfied with what they perceived as favoritism by Aurillex, and not in their favor, and so defected away. Physically, their skin and hair has been muted to a grayer palette of whatever tones they previously had, almost as if the Blasted Wastes had become a part of them. Their eyes, similarly, burn with their rage and jealousy, turning shades of gold, orange, red, and gray to almost black. While retaining their focus on mastery of craft, the dvergen have had this aim directed by Anderion’s militarism to suit his ends. No longer crafting works of art for its own sake, they instead create weapons of war. But they continue to do so to an incredibly high degree. Dvergen weapons and armor are matched only by their Mountain cousins, and even then it is a matter of hot debate. Their frequent interactions with the kobolds has resulted in them adopting a number of draconic words and phrases. This has in turn led some scholars to reclassify their speech as a distinct dialect called Fire Runic or simply Dvergen.

The Dvergen broke away from their Mountain cousins in pursuit of power and glory at the hands of the Red Dragon Curse, Anderion. He poured his malice into them, corrupting them into their current forms.
