Smallfolk
Easily overlooked due to their remote location and stature, though they certainly should not be, the term Smallfolk refers collectively to Halflings and Gnomes. Other than their height though, it is not clear that these races are closely related. Nonetheless they have lived together in the Somerset Hills in a fairly idyllic fashion for a very long time. The two races are so closely intertwined that they speak the same version of Common, called Arcadian. But a shadow has been cast over the long peace, as the fall of the great Sunwood Empire to the East has thrown the future of Syridia into question. Their elder dragon protector, Cuppria, is determined to protect them, but they lack the strength of arms to effectively support her in a fight that seems more inevitable with each passing day.
Origin/Ancestry
The origins of the Smallfolk are not well understood. It is generally thought that they are a combination of elvish, human, and dwarvish descents, but this is unconfirmed.
