Mt. Exirglarp

Óraxtap: Exirglarp /ɛksɪːrklaːrph/
Znagrúkic: Územ Nartá /uːzɛːm naːrthauː/
Územ Nartá (znagrúska)
Mörkelic: Asigát /aːsɪgauːth/
Mt. Exirglarp is the highest peak of the Múlíat Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Dragonía by far.
Located in the southern part of the mountains, not far from the Hahagak Sea, the peak is visible from from all but the most remote corners of the Múlíat Mountains, as well as from the westernmost Tærp Mountains, and the edges of the Sjorg- and Korrei Desert to the west and north, respectively.
The influence of the element of Fire, which is the dominant one in the region, affects the mountain in odd ways at higher altitudes, as its peak comes closer to the the upper part of the impenetrable barrier that separates Dragonía from the elemental worlds surrounding it -specifically that of Fire- than any other part of the landmass.
The two most notable effects visible to the people below are the mirage which obscures most of it, and that the peak glows at night due to the high temperatures at the top.
Of the few who have attempted to scale Mt. Exirglarp throughout history, none have proven successful and some even perished up there, due to the lack of water and wildlife to replenish their supplies.

Cultural significance

The mountain features prominently in the mythology of the different peoples who inhabit the region, particularly the Gobíls and Znagrúks, and has even indirectly found its way into the myths and folklore of the Mörkels far to the northeast.

Gobíls

The Hrens of the northern Múlíat Mountains, particularly the southern tribes, believe that Exirglarp is the abode of the earth god and sky goddess, built by the former to reach the latter. They avoid doing any ritually impure activity while facing south as much as possible, to avoid angering the divine couple.
Among the Kóhans in the region of Darlaa and the Óraxes in the southern Sjorg Desert there is a widespread belief that atop Mt. Exirglarp is Terxaní, home of the gods and souls of the dead. Certain Krekkúxes have similar beliefs about the mountain, particularly those most influenced by Órax culture.
The Traks who inhabit Dakrúzú Peninsula south of the great mountain believe it to be ruins of an ancient city or tower built by an ancient race of giants, and that the Hahagak Sea was formed where they quarried the material needed for its construction. The giants' fate is rarely touched upon, though a few tribes on the southern coast of Hahagak Sea believe that they were transformed into the stars.

Znagrúks

The hulking Znagrúks who rule an empire in the southwestern Múlíat Mountains believe mountains to be gods, the children of heaven and earth, the eldest of which is Mt. Exirglarp or Územ Nartá as they call it. Rulers of the Znagrúk Empire are believed to be descendants of Územ Nartá, symbolized by wearing tall, conical golden hats.

Mörkels

While the Mörkels on the Plain of Kings don't worship the mountain as such, stories of Mt. Exirglarp reached they ancestors -the Móerkels- via Órax merchants long ago, which over the centuries evolved and became the main inspiration for the Heaven Tree in Mörkel mythology, where abodes of certain deities are located, along with the realm of the dead.
