Korrei Desert
The Korrei Desert1 is a large region in central Dragonía, and forms the western part of a vast desert which covers much of the mainland. It's bordered by the Plain of Spirits to the west and north, the Southern Desert to the east, the Múlíat Mountains to the south and southeast, and Vikrú River to the southwest.
The northern part of the desert was once home to two ancient cultures, namely the theropod-like Brariians and the insectoid Zkorbs, the latter which were driven out some 20.000 years ago by the former, while the Brariians continued inhabiting the region until being obliterated over 800 years ago.

Geography
Korrei Desert consists of two regions, a large one which is notable rockier than the Southern Desert, especially to the south, which surrounds a smaller region -once known as Triiklá- to the north in the form of a large, roughly circular depression, formed by the cataclysm which wiped out Brariian civilization. The entire surface of the latter is covered in dark, semi-translucent material resembling obsidian forming ridges, spires and gorges, which are most prominent along the edges, while towards the center, many of these formations are obscured by a layer of dust and sand.
Before its destruction, Triiklá was notably more fertile than the rest of Korrei Desert, both due to the presence of three lakes (namely Aabrúl, Eiadir and Óot) and a rich soil containing minerals spread by volcanic eruptions from Mt. Æjat at the heart of the region.

Fauna & Flora
The harsh environment of the Korrei Desert means that only the hardiest of plants and animals survive there, either underground or around scattered oases. The only living thing found in the wasteland to the north is a monstrous creature known as The Dragon.
