The Sea of Moving Art

As a nomad walks across the sand of the Dune Sea, they stumble across the edge of a richly colored tapestry protruding from the golden sands. Or perhaps, instead, a massive statue towers above a dune in the distance, edges hazy from the brilliant sun setting just beyond it... Whether it be a tapestry or a statue, upon their next visit they are both oddly absent, instead replaced by a brilliant archway of stone and marble. The Sea of Moving Art spans miles of the Dune Sea, alternating between consuming art and revealing it. Within its churning confines, it contains works of stunning architecture, statues carved of marble or perhaps of fine wood, paintings, glass works, ornately woven garb or rugs, jewelry of rich gems and intricate beadwork, and much more. At its core, the Sea of Moving Art is the largest gallery in the world, curating and tended to by the always changing shape of the dunes.

Although the Sea of Moving Art is not purposely malicious or particularly dangerous, traveling through it is not without its risks. Those visiting will be advised to keep somewhat of a vigilant watch as the dunes here are known to collapse and form quicker than most areas. “Warp zones” are easily identifiable, as the sand almost seems to roll or “bubble”. These areas should be avoided as the Sea of Moving Art is about to erupt and reveal a piece of art or swallow the nearby area.
