Dwarves
Dwarves, their carvings and great underground halls, known to few but themselves, have been long told in legend and myth. Dwarves are known for their sturdiness and skill with stone. They have a natural love of the living stone palaces that are their homes. Short, stout, stubborn and strong to an intimidating degree, Dwarves mostly live in the great Snow-top Mountains and the cavernous halls of Slog .

History
The Dwarves have had a long and hard history. Their oldest homes were said to have been built in the northern lands of Grood, until they were driven out during the Age of Brutality by the invasion of the limrods. They then wandered south, through the Wilds, many of them dying of cold and starvation. They eventually crossed over the Snow-top Mountains into Amatrio, and there were finally aided by men. They began making their homes in the Snow-top Mountains once again, and were provided with resources and help from the Amatrian inhabitants, who also began to teach them small amounts of their knowledge relating The Forces. The dwarves, sometime after settling in the Snow-top Mountains began to have trouble with roaming Trolls and goblins attacking and plundering their small encampments. Due to this the dwarves split, most stayed in the Snow-top Mountains, but some decided to move farther south, through Amatrio and eventually following the Cross river south to the Sunrise Sea. There they finally rested, making their home in the Oblivion Mountains.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarves and Limrods, have a shared mistrust. Dwarves see them as unpredictable, threatening and part beast.
Dwarves and men have allied with each other many times, and are friendly towards one another, almost seeing eye-to-eye.
Dwarves and Nitts are also very friendly, seeing each other almost as brethren. Dwarves also tend to appreciate Nitts' curious and exploratory natures, and tend to feel very comfortable around them.
Dwarves see Shadow Elves and Wood Elves as roughly the same (which is an absurd notion and not at all accurate.) They do not despise, but do not very much enjoy their company or cultures.
Dwarves hardly ever encounter Birdmen, however, when they do they are wary of them and become suspicious. They think of them too similar to limrods, and do not trust them.
