S4: No Safe Haven Report
General Summary
9th Zarantyr
The party spoke to Gallus, captain of the Havenglen militia, and his subordinate Zeva. They discovered that the Manticore had started poaching small sheep and goats on the outskirts of the village, becoming more aggresive recently to the point where it attacked large herds defended by the militia. Dhok aided a young man named Walter, with a black powder that cauterized the wound (this terrified Aethelwulf). Neither Gallus nor Zeva knew much of Seamus but recommended heading to the town center to speak with the majority of the townfolk. They also asked the party to aid them with the Manticore. The party fashioned a sled for Aethelwulf to be carried while he viewed the world through Merlin's eyes. Traveling into the forest, Esi and Kai followed a trail of Manticore blood and broken branches. Getting lost, the party stumbled upon a dead bear, stained with dark green ichorous blood and followed it to a cave. Trying to approach the cave, a troll inside heard them and charged out to attack. Easily dispatching and with only minor injury, the party dealt with the troll then camped nearby. At night a swarm of wasps rushed the camp and the party snapped their fingers, destroyed the swarm.10th Zarantyr
The party set out, tracing back to the fork they had turned down the wrong path and found the tracks of the Manticore again. After an hour of travel, they found the Manticores lair, a cave at the back of a clearing and the manticore itself who was bearing down on Doreah, who was panicked and backing away. Moments after engaging in battle, the manticore they had fought in Havenglen flies over and begins to atack. In a display of lethal force, the manticores were driven to near death quickly, when they attempted to surrender and backing up into the cave to protect their cubs. The party decided that allowing the manticores to survive was not worth the risk and finished them off, including one that flew away though it knocked Kai unconcious as it fell from the sky.Character(s) interacted with
