Lapithud Gulf

A vast strait that both separates and connects the north western and south eastern halves of Valkana. It's deep green-grey waters inspire many tales and spook-stories. It is a widely traveled area, ships passing through up to Yvraine, or beyond, or perhaps to the gleaming harbor of Kecksis will frequent these watery passages. The waters are also rich for fishing, though trying to spot a school under the nearly opaque waves is like trying to see a feather on a dragon. For such purposes there are a group of mages called Wusprac, who learn the waxing and waning of the tides, the ways of the fish and the taming of the Gerridae. Most larger ships will have a permanent member of the Wusprac hired at all times. It is often said that a ship sailing without one is in the hands of the gods.
