Character Generation

  3. Determine Ability Scores:

    • You have 27 points to spend on your ability scores. The cost of each score is shown on the Ability Score Point Cost table. For example, a score of 14 costs 7 points. Using this method, 15 is the highest ability score you can end up with, before applying racial increases. You can't have a score lower than 8 without GM permission.

  4. Choose A Background:

    • All backgrounds are available, including custom backgrounds.
  5. Choose One Unique Thing:

  6. Choose Characteristics:

    • Characteristics consist of a Personality Trait, an Ideal, a Bond, and a Flaw. Characteristics can be chosen from the table for your background, class, or race, or they can be made up. Make sure you choose Characteristics that you want to use in game, as these are a primary source of Inspiration points.
  7. Choose A Starting Feat:

    • All PCs receive a starting feat at 1st level. This feat must be Skill or Tool Proficiency based, such as Actor or Chef - Feats Per Level
  8. Choose Additional Languages:

    • All PCs receive additional known languages equal to one half of their Intelligence modifier (at character generation) rounded up.
  9. Choose Relationship Dice:

    • See Relationship Dice
    • Below is a list of the suggested starting relationships for this campaign:
    • The Grande Duchy of Orlia
    • The Brisingelion (as a whole or an individual deity and it's scions)
    • The Circle of 12 Seals
    • The Song of Edras
    • Verathrox, the Sepulcher Agape
    • Magog, the Throne of Sin
    • The Shroud
    • The Shining Vanguard (Whitecloaks)
    • The Children of the Forgotten
    • Your Choice (assuming you know the setting well enough and want to tie in something from your background)
  10. Level Up:

    • Level your character up to level 7.
    • Take full HP at each level up, no rolling or averages.
    • Take your 6th level free feat, it must be combat or magic related - Feats Per Level
  11. Choose Equipment:

    • All PCs start with 950 gold that may be spent with the GM on anything other than grafts, vestiges, or true magic items.
    • Choose, pending GM approval, one Common graft/vestige/true magic item and either two Uncommon grafts/vestiges/true magic items or one Rare graft/vestige/true magic item.

  13. Character Backstory:

     
    • These are the only required background questions. They can be as short and sweet as you like. If you want to expand your background more, feel free.
    • How old are you?
    • How did you become the class that you are?
    • How do you feel about the deities of Edras? Are you religious?
    • Why did you join Pariah and become an adventurer and mercenary?
    • Why did you retire from Pariah?
    • What have you done since you left Pariah?
    • What is your proudest accomplishment or victory?
    • What do you love? What you hate? What scares you? What's your favorite sound?
    • What is your driving force or goal in life?
    • Detail one other member of Pariah that you worked with and could call for help (Name, Race, Class, Blurb, etc). Choose carefully. This is your backup character if your main character dies.
