Anise left home after a fateful pact was sealed with The Faceless One to guarantee her freedom, and she traveled for a while before eventually meeting up with and joining with Shenoa Steelheart, then Davryn Hightower, Thalia Fannorin, and Mia Whitstone. The party then came across Wakefield, where they tried to help the small village with their mill, and soon found out there was something bigger going on in the Battle of Wakefield.
After being confronted by celestial beings about her pact and it's effect on her future, Anise was made clear of 3 items that would be required to summon her patron to the Material Plane--the First Knife, a book, and her sacrifice. Upon meeting Nan, she was given a seal to prevent contact with her patron and told to seek out the items for the ritual, but to let Nan know when she found the items so they could be safeguarded.
When the party headed to Maypool, Anise separated, leaving a note to Davryn Hightower that she would explain more later. She went to Qarth, where she met Liam and Alarick. The three planned to crash a party and steal the First Knife, but Anise's cover date Aerin Elliot crashed the party himself with a violent coup. Alarick told Liam to flee with Anise after a failed attempt to grab the knife and they made it out of Qarth barely alive.
After their revelations at the Fist of the First Men, the party returned to Old Town town, and were told that they needed to make their way to Qarth to fight Aerin Elliot and get the First Knife. There, Anise confronted Aerin and cut his hand off, causing his contingency plan to go off, turning him into a monster, just like he had done to Liam. Once killing him, a black hole of some kind started to form, and the party nabbed a bunch of items, including the First Knife, which caused a struggle to keep Anise's control over herself. The party barely managed to make it out alive, and they returned to Old Town, where they had a funeral for Liam.
After returning to Neldorland to try to find a way to fix Davryn Hightower, the party returned to The Monastery to learn more about Azreith and Torren. While trying to travel to Last Hearth, the party was ambushed by remorrhaz. Out of desperation, Anise pulled out the First Knife and lost control, attacking Davryn Hightower, who became possessed by Azreith once again. This caused Predicus to pull Anise from the mission and bring her back to Old Town, replacing her with Astrid Vanderminde.

General Physical Condition
Anise is fairly small and lithe.
Body Features
Aside from the noticeable purple skin, there are two large horns that protrude from her temples upward with a slight twist to them.
Facial Features
Anise's facial features are soft and rounded, with large almond shaped eyes and thin, expressive eyebrows.
Physical quirks
Anise can be a bit jumpy, but she is also very animated when she wants to be, especially when upset.
Special abilities
Among the magic and spells that Anise has gotten in return for her promise of servitude to The Faceless One, she has the ability to turn into a spiritwraith of sorts, frightening her foes.
Apparel & Accessories
Anise prides herself on her wardrobe and make up, always trying to snag nice clothes and accessories to wear, especially if they are her favorite color, purple.
Specialized Equipment
Anise carries with her a Book of Shadows, a leatherbound tome, which looks to have been stretched dangerously close to tearing, while gathering in other spots. A skeletal hand with an eye in the palm is burned into the center of the cover.

Personal history
Anise Xenakis is a young woman still with a very childish and naive attitude and outlook on life. Obsessed with womanly things such as dresses, jewelry and perfumes, she tries her hardest to appear as highblooded and noble as she can, despite the obviousness of her skin and horns. Secretive and introverted, she avoids sharing details whenever possible to seem mysterious or even standoffish, but in reality, it is to hide her difficult origins and keep distance from others.
Education
Any of Anise's education was learned from books she managed to get ahold of. Very little was taught by her parents, and what was taught was generally related to raising goats for sacrifice, as well as sacrificial rites.
Employment
Anise has never been properly employed, aside from the pact she made with The Faceless One.
