Session 2.8

General Summary

The party had taken an unexpected detour on the trip to Hecht. During the second leg of the journey the group had encountered and assisted in helping protect a masked elven noble by the name of Lord Melchior Greenleaf who was being chased by an assassin. In lending this noble aid everyone was granted access to the Eleven capital of Faerun. Looking to maximize their time the party was able to gather the a wealth of information including:
  • Knowledge that the forest timpers that Rhorn and Zhorn had been hearing are said to be echoes from when the Prime Deities used to walk the world. These trace essences of the gods are said to educate, enlighten, and guide those fortunate enough to be attuned to them. In this case the forest timpers are said to be echoes of the Goddess Misandril.
  • Priestess Luna visited the temple of Lisandria and Misandril to share her recent nightmares. These nightmares were described as strange and certainly uncommon. The priest in charge of this temple said he would relay it to the members of the Onyx Order including High Priest Grimwald Erksin who was located in Regalia, but in the meantime had provided the Priestess with some Nightsbane which was said to repress the dreams.
  • The party had experienced their first magic shop, Zormans. Although the items were fantastical, they were also expensive, and Fannti had to settle for some potions as well as the Iberrian calendar.
  • Located in the same market district there was a shop for a Mr. Ilinon Perseus, an elven master craftsman, who had worked with a Baricon Ore and crafted the daggers called Pride and Prejudice, as written on his shop's signage. He was very showy, but garnered a huge crowd of onlookers. Once again his shops prices scared off the party.
  • The following morning, Rhorn and Zhorn had found a note in their room wedged by a knife. The note stated that the party had interfered with an organization called the Reach which upon asking found out was an Assassins Guild who targeted people that "deserved it". Rhorn was able to connect that Lord Greenleaf is a spy who was using his station to spread Federation information to other people, which is probably why he was made a mark.
With this information the party decided to pay Lord Greenleaf a second visit, only to find that he was under attack by the assassin he had previously described. The group was able to dive the assassin away leaving him badly injured. In the aftermath, Lord Greenleaf fearing for his life and the party's advised the group to leave the city at once.
