Hwt-Ka-Ptah (ha ka tah)
A beautiful civilisation built in the fertile lands surrounding the Iteru river. A fertile land and rich in gold. The Qa’a dynasty has ruled for centuries, using the mountains to the east and the desert to the west and south as protection. They call the land Hwt-ka-Ptah, and the people are called the Kaptah.
The humans and halflings of the Kaptah are dusky skinned and dark haired, and usually stocky in build, even the elves are darker of skin than their other counterparts, and it’s due to the blazing sun that shines on these lands.
The Kaptah speak common, but most also know the local dialect called Takalah.
The Kaptah tend to wear lightweight clothing, billowing silks and linens in white and pale sandy tones accented with vibrant colours, and adorn themselves with gold and precious stones. Most also tend to keep their heads shaved and wear wigs. And it’s a tradition for male children to only have a single lock of hair on the side of the head, called a youth-lock, only shaved off once they reach 12.
All genders wear makeup, and it is very common for everyone to be wearing eyeliner and nail stains, partly out of beauty, but also a little for protection against infections. Even high ranking servants were allowed to wear makeup sometimes.
Most wealthy Kaptah own slaves, with the King Antep Qa’a and his family owning over a thousand courtesans, servants and entertainers.
Kaptah slaves are often identified by the iron band around their necks, sealed by magical means, and requires a magic seal called a Khatam to remove.
The Kaptah military is rather large, consisting of loyal slaves that are trained to be extremely skilled soldiers. They are best trained in horseback and chariot archery, as well as skilled polearm masters, and they are known as The Asads .
The Kaptah believe in the The Kaptah Deities The Divine Family , who are said to give divine right to rule to the royal bloodline.
