Sei Taishogun '征大将軍'
At your service, whenever and wherever you are. Hence, we are bound to annihilate anyone who dare talk in blasphemy about you. - Exctract from the Daigishiki (original author)Since Tsukimoto Inukichi turned the figure of the Sei Taishogun into a permanent and hereditary position, there were two ruling classes in Umiwaki:
- The Zenchizennou who acts as "chief priest" of the official religion of the empire, Haijo.
- The Shogun, head of the army, who also enjoys civil, military, diplomatic and judicidal authority. Although in theory the Shogun is a Zenchizennou's servant, it became the true power behind the throne.
The first legitimate marital partner of a Shogun is called Midaidokoro while their firstborn legitimate children are referred as Migi-e Shogun for firstborn females and Hidari-e Shogun for firstborn males. Other children with the Midaidokoro are titled Shinnou / Shinnouhi while children concieved with another partner are given the title Ouji or Oujou.
On certain occasions and if their schedule allows it, they are allowed to be present during a Zenchizennou teaching.
To become Sei Taishogun, one must be subjected to a test to determine if they are able to awake a Prodigal. Upon succeeding, they will be granted the title of Keishi.
Requirements
The Shogun is given that title if they are able to activate a Prodigal, it isn't specifically hereditary. If there are no inactivated ones, the current Zenchizennou individual or assembly can choose the next Shogun according to criteria of their choosing.
If a young Shogun is chosen and does not yet have the age to rule, a Sekke is appointed until they reach adult age.
