Leidrin (Lay-drihn)
Leidrin is home to the Fureiyns, a race descended from Moon Elf and Celestial heritage. It is the smallest region of the three Western Galean kingdoms, residing in the Northeast where it is wedged between the Keleshin and Calyn mountain ranges. There is not much forest in the kingdom and the region is mostly hilly river valleys. Some farming can be found, but its trade lies mostly in hunting and fishing. They are also the only kingdom with access to Calyntiin, a rare metal found only in the Calyn mountains. They trade with the dwarves who live inside the mines, the result of an ancient pact between the two formed during an ancient war.
The Fureiyns hold great faith to their goddess, Iona, as they are descended from The Celestials who call her their mother. They continue to be born with some Celestial abilities and the royal family once had wings, but their appearance has disappeared over the last few generations.
The capital city of Caranion is located on the northeastern shore of Leidrin on the Numera Strait, fortified on the coast by cliffs. There is a dockside and ports on the western side of the city where the land slopes down, and that’s where much of the Calyn trading happens. It is there where you might find a small district of dwarves, the only race besides Fureiyn that you might regularly see in this city.
History
Queen Rowan Taele ruled the kingdom after her brother, Syndeleris, went missing shortly after taking up the crown when their father suddenly passed away.
