Expedition
The party investigates the death of a prominent dwarf in the Shipping District named Nordrak Warhorn and uncover a cleric trying to pass illegal drugs as medication.
Tylen has the party meet up and explains that Carm Hoag is blocking the sale of wood needed to build the community center. There is an option to do a salvage operation for Evan Benidik, owner of Benidik's Raw Materials, or doing a favor for Carm Hoag. The party decides to do both and goes to talk to Hoag first. Hoag explains that a political rival of his, Nordrak Warhorn, was found dead in an alleyway a few months back of an apparent Crypt Thorn overdose, but people are asking questions. He wants the party to look into it and set these rumors to rest. The party agrees and gets the info they need. After questioning the guard that handled the discovery, the corner who examined the body, and the healer who had been treating Warhorn for an old injury, the party begins to find some discrepancies. There were appointments missing from some of the books, and the name of the cleric he saw last has been erased. Gleen, the tiefling healer, notes that it looks like some of the files have been doctored and says that he will get back to them. The party then goes to talk to Warhorn's widow, son, and former assistant. The widow and son insist that there is no way that he ever did any drugs, but Millard starts to get uncomfortable. The party talk to him outside and he admits that Warhorn was doing Crypt Thorn, but he doesn't know how long. The party got a note from the clinic that they have looked into these discrepancies and it looks like there was a rogue cleric who was seeking out patients with chronic pain. After Webber Cross writes him a note, Gleen provides the party with a list of patients that this cleric saw, noting that there were only 4 who were still alive, many of them died of Crypt Thorn use. The party went to interrogate them. They found 2 of them dead, one with a small child who was thankfully unharmed until Webber hit him with the door. The third one was high on Crypt Thorn with a gaping necrotic wound in his abdomen. The last was a young man still living with his parents. They had recognized what the drug was and he had stopped taking it after the first dose. They agree to help the party set up a meeting with the cleric who was providing them with the drugs. But first, the party has dinner plans with Hoag and his son (they originally suspected the son of being somehow involved) Characters:
