Tylen
Tylen
Tylen is an elf who was born and raised in the Political District in a prominent family, the Savaris Family. He has been estranged from his family for five years and does not discuss the reasons with others, except that it was his choice to be estranged. He does not seem to hold any outward animosity towards his family, but almost treats the estrangement like a business deal. Very little is known about his life before he left the family, children in the political district tend to be kept out of public as much as possible to avoid scandal, this is typically doubled for their teen years. What is known is that Tylen met Vanryell when Vanryell was hired to work in the Savaris household. The two became friends soon afterwards, which would be found upon by most politically minded families and would typically result in that servant being fired. In this case it was allowed to continue and Tylen began being seen more in public. Prior to this he had rarely attending social functions, leading some to speculate that there was something wrong with him. Nothing was ever officially said about his previous absence and all rumors were put to a quick end.
Tylen left his family in 2070, purchasing a house in the Fishing District in Vanryell's name, resulting in Vanryell meeting all requirements to run for Councilor in the Fishing District. The Savaris Family made an official announcement that Tylen had left the family to support someone that he felt could make the city a better place. They did not condemn or support this decision in the announcement and neither side has spoken about it since. No longer able to use his family name or connections, Tylen was still able to begin setting the foundation for Vanryell to gain political support within the Fishing District. He has been quick to downplay the importance of his own involvement, preferring to suggest that Varyell is the one behind his own success, but some say that Varyell is nothing but another puppet for the Savaris family.
Very few people claim to know him well, even fewer people claim to like him. This seems to suit him just fine, even though Vanryell tries to tell people that he really isn't that bad once you get to know him. He readily admits that he is rude, abrasive, and stuck up, treating these facts as no less obvious than his hair color. He rarely socializes and prefers to spend the majority of his time working on different tasks for Vanryell's political career.
