Arboretum of Damus
In the heart of the Grove is the headquarters and sanctuary of the Council of Life. This is where the Mother of the Woods lives, an ancient, powerful Greendragon.
The Arboretum was originally planted to study the flora created by Narmiraen,, and to teach the Surta elven druids how to care for it. Nowadays, the plants here also used by replanting the areas destroyed in the disaster with their seeds and shoots. The collection became invaluable when Damus' Doom occurred. Twenty Greendragons sacrificed their lives so that the Arboretum could survive the natural disaster caused by the volcanoes. The garden is still threatened by the continent's greedy and evil creatures, mainly the Firedragons.
The Arboretum is guarded by Greendragons and Druids, but it's last line of defense is provided by the Mother of the Woods.
The biggest secret of the Arboretum is that it contains a portal to the Elemental plane of Earth and Nature, where the Dragon Goddess rule.
The Arboretum has four internal gardens and a further area, on the shores of the Blackwater.
- The first garden has all the natural jungle plants: trees, shrubs, ferns and flowers, including a grove of Puffdine Orchids, fed by druids, but also excellent border guards. Lots of small animals and birds live in this area, wasps, bees and other insects buzz among the leafs. Colorful butterflies often fly up in clouds. This is the largest area and mainly tended by Segai druids.
- In the next garden freshwater and waterside plants from the continent grow. This area is divided by pools and streams is crossed by small wooden bridges. Reptiles, amphibians, fish and water birds populate the place. Most of the Bugit druids are here.
- In the third garden, plants living in high places grow on an artificially created mountain. Once a few mountain goats somewhat got in, and caused a lot of damage here. Then the druids allowed a pair of Deathwings to nests on the protected mountain, and the area has been guarded by these birds ever since. Greendragon druids spend lot of time here.
- The fourth garden is located under that mountain, in a spacious cave system. Bena elf druids take great care of the plants that live in the depths. They keep basilisks to exterminate the vermin and dispose of intruders.
- On the more distant coast, saltwater plants are tended. A fabulous coral reef belongs to the Arboretum. Six Undine druids help with the work here.
