Melanie Durand
Melanie Durand is the current New California Republic ambassador to the Free Economic Zone of the Mojave. Originally a conscript serving on the homefront, Durand finished her tour in 2291. After this she attempted to enter politics with a failed run for senator in her home town of Hub. Despite this failure, NCR President Lucinda Bailey saw something in her and took her on as a assistant, eventually being promoted to be envoy to the Crimson Caravan Company in New Vegas in 2296. When the previous ambassador retired in 2298, Durand immediately applied for the position, and was granted it. Despite her age she is tenacious and thorough, much to the annoyance of the ruling families of Vegas.
