Wraycourt

Wraycourt is one of the seven city-states in Dunwichia. Nestled between Siddall Mountain and the natural harbor formed in the Lithgow Bight, Wraycourt is the most difficult of the cities to access, and one of the most easily defended. Much of the city is actually held within Siddall mountain, leaving most of the small valley on the southern side free for farmland, while the northern side drops directly into the desert beyond.

Demographics

Aarakocra & Other Bird-Folk: 2%   Dragonborn: 6%   Dwarf: 17%   Elf: 1%   Genasi: 1%   Gnome: 1%   Human: 36%   Mixed-Race: 25%   Orc: 4%   Tiefling: 2%   Remaining 5%: Other races   Wraycourt's population is very similar to that of greater Dunwichia. However, much like Sudcourt, there are larger populations of Dwarves and Aarakocra. There are fewer full-blooded elves in Wraycourt than in other Dunwichian cities, though it is the only city-state in Dunwichia where there is a significant Drow population. The Genasi birthrate is also slightly elevated in Wraycourt, as compared to the other city-states.

Government

The Wray Governor, Moira Wray, rules the city-state with a council made up of the heads of other Wray noble families, as well as some elected and appointed officials.

Defences

Siddall Mountain's crescent shape cradles the small valley that holds the city, and defends it from any attack that would come over land. The only way into the city from the road to Corhext is through the mountain, in a tunnel crafted by Dwarvish settlers. This same tunnel can easily be closed off from within, blocking any entrance to the city from anywhere but the sea beyond the also very easily defensible bight.

Industry & Trade

The mountain also brings rain to the city, making the land fertile and suited to growing exotic fruit that only grows here, or on the Gems and Dregs archipelagos.
