Irasia

During the final years of attempted Funhian invasions, Irasia was a group of small clan villages that banded together to repel what few desperate attacks made their way westwards. Banded together by the people of Anihild who suffered the brunt of the first attack. The Banith family came forward and united the people under the charismatic rule of Jule Banith. Once the small group of eldritch monsters that heralded from Funhia were defeated, the many nearby villages began a small conscription effort to make sure no more incursions would happen again.

Eventually, this conscription system formed into an organized system of rule under the rule of the Banith family. Due to this, the village of Anihild began to grow in size over time as many people would congregate to the protection that the now city provided.   Irasia began to grow rapidly over the next few centuries, enjoying access over the Milith Sea to Maganoasia, opening up prosperous trade routes with them. However, during the turn of the sixth century of the Age of Sorrows, Irasia suffered through many droughts and famines. Enough so that they had to call upon financial aid from Maganoasia. Due to this, many people in the marshlands of Irasia suffered as food shortages spread throughout the land.

Conflict sparked when the Banith family clashed with the Gelithal family. An influencial family that was what many considered the ruler of the Irasian Marshlands. While the exact reason is lost to history, it launched the country into a bloody civil war that lasted a hundred years.   Thousands of years later, Irasia and the now self proclaimed Gelasia fight for fertile farmland and pride every year, locked into a bloody conflict.

Structure

King Minh Banith ruled over the various barons and nobles that are assigned land to watch over, now having been succeeded by his daughter after his assassination. During times of war he asks them recruit men for his armies. In times of peace, he requires a tithe to be paid.   Apart from the armies of his barons, a constant military force known as the Plains Guard is conscripted to watch over the land and people and are usually the ones who protect the land in times of war. Under the Plains Guard are the various towns guard, volunteers who choose to protect their hometowns for decent pay.

Assets

Formed of many small townships, much of Irasias wealth comes from it's fertile farm lands and large amount of horses that they've tamed over the years. Known as avid horse breeders, it's often a sign of nobility to own at least one Irasian horse.   The Irasian country is also the home to 12 large castles that protect it's borders. Nicknamed The Dozen, 10 of these castles are the first line of defense against any would be invaders. Should anyone make it past them, 2 fortresses called The Stalwart and The Constance watch over the people of Irasia.

Demography and Population

The average human citizen of Irasia usually lives up to 50 years of age, should they live in one of the larger cities, this number can reach up to 70 years of age.   As originally a nation of nomadic Humans, they still the majority of the population to this day. However a number of Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes and Tabaxi call these plains their home. However, it isn't uncommon for Half-Orcs or Tieflings migrating west from Funhai looking for a better life.

Territories

The Irasians have settled down on the Irasian plans for the past thousands of years. While many creatures still stalk the land, it means that many settlements are well colonized with rich farmland surrounding them. What lands it has are light forests and large open plains.

Military

Irasias military is well known for having poorly trained main body, however it's highly trained calvary as well as their mythical Green Knights make them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.   In the average town however, it's common that small militias or town guards will form in order to protect from wildlife and goblinoid attacks.

Religion

Many denizens of Irasia pray to Illiphous, Goddess of the Harvest, as most livelihoods depend upon the success of their crops. Illiphous, as well as Oliatos, God of all that is Good, share the place of central worship. Because of this, anything that disrupts the order or harms the lives or crops of people are seen as great crimes.

Foreign Relations

While currently at war with Gelasia, Irasia has many amiable relationship with it's current neighbors.

Agriculture & Industry

Irasia consists of mostly fertile farmland, which have been transformed into either food or cotton farms, both of which contribute massively into the trade of Irasias neighbors.
