Drazer the Tiny

Drazer came from a small goliath village in the far north of the Kingdom of Birma, in Ulthos. The village had almost no magic. As a result he sees magic as a source of power and in amazement. He has spent a good portion of his life trying to figure out how people are able to "cast" spells. This got him to leave home and travel south to more densely populated areas, dotted with human villages and towns. It was there that he met a noblewoman named Silmara Vanabar, who possessed the gift. Silmara was traveling to the New World of Gethen to seek her fortune, and hired Drazer as her bodyguard. As they traveled to Birmenhavn to their ship, Drazer was trying to learn how she cast spells, and attempting to cast spells in the same fashion, by throwing a rock and saying fireball (but no explosion).   While aboard the Skylark, Drazer also became relatively friendly with a crewman named Kray . After arrival, Kray followed him and Silmara into town as they were being shown about by Bork, a lizardman local. After a night's debauchery, during which Drazer defeated Kothar - Bork's lizardman pal and a champion pit fighter at the Scale and Tail, Bork took them to see the local notary, who discovered that the property Silmara had come to claim was the infamous Helmont Mansion, rumored to be haunted.   While Silmara was preoccupied with this business, Drazer joined Tycho, who had just arrived in town, in an expedition to save his village from loggers. Along with Kray and Professor Charles Birchwood, they traveled inland the next day, and after an encounter with gnolls and a black bear, and a night layover in Sanctuary, came to the firbolg village and found it destroyed. They spent the night after wandering whether they should follow the tracks of the orc marauders likely responsible. The carnage attracted scavengers - first a bear, which Drazer and Kray dispatched while the professor slept, and then, a landshark, which killed Tycho, and dragged his corpse underground as the panicked explorers fled. They traveled back to Sanctuary for help, and informed the local authorities about the orc marauders. They then continued on back to Saltmarsh, and summoned the Town Council to give them the news. The Council seemed reluctant to go to war with the orcs, especially given the paucity of evidence, and its interest in continuing to engage in trade with the natives.   With Tycho dead, the village gone, and his erstwhile employer, Silmara, apparently vanished, Drazer was able to parlay his victory over Kothar into a job as a bouncer at the Merry Mermaid. The initial interest in the goliath quickly soured as he mistreated the local clients and workers. After two enneads, he and Kray, who had discovered evidence that Silmara had been kidnapped, made a quick trip to the Helmont Mansion, to look about. The place appeared to have been abandoned, though the two discovered a giant venomous snake in a well out back, which the goliath was able to cut in half with his axe. They went back to town, convinced that the answers to many questions lay at the mansion, but no less convinced that they needed more people for another foray.   Drazer, hugely muscled and heavily tattooed, is seven and a half feet tall, and weighs 300 pounds. His nickname, given to him by his family, reflects the fact that he was considered a runt among the goliaths.
