The Squire Joust
In addition to the main Jousting, as an interlude between the two Group Stages, a separate tournament was held to allow some of the squires close to the end of their training to compete. Each competing squire would have to be outfitted suitably for the competition, with a suit of Tourney Plate, a Destrier and Shield, Lances and weapon of choice all to be provided by the squire's knight or their household in order that they be able to joust.Prize
The highest placing four squires would be knighted, with the winning squire being knighted by ser Allon Southbay. In addition the winner would displace the lowest scoring knight from the second group stage to enter the bracketed stage of the tournament. Finally the four new knights would each recieve two Revenue toward costs to set themselves up in positions anywhere in The Kingdom. These prizes would be funded by the visiting Duchies.Results
Laina Falcin came first place. She was knighted by ser Allon Southbay and took a place in the second group stage of the main Tourney. She went on to make it as far as the semi-final of the elimination stage, only being defeated by ser Talinora Echol who went on to win the purse.Teressa Bridewell, Dannys Bridewell and Tiyana Slaite came second, third and fourth respectively. They were each knighted by ser Allon Southbay. The four knights each received a purse of coin to establish themselves.
The Minmoth Show
In Nosirien House Falcin of Calford would host a Minmoth show. This would be made up of a number of categories, each with different requirements.Competitors would be judged on how closely they meet breed signature attributes, temperament, skill and presentation. For some breeds this would involve athletic competition at Nosirien Minmoth Racing Track or displays of skill at Nosirien Cattle Pasture.
Prize
The winner of Best In Show would win the opportunity to stud one cow in their herd with any other competitor (or a member of their lineage chosen by the winner). The winner of each category would win one pedigree calf from House Falcin's litters. Finally, a 'Judges Favourite' would win one Revenue.Judging and prizes would be provided by House Falcin of Calford.
Art Competition
In Gladewood House House Brume of The Green would host an art competition, with pieces displayed around the house to the visiting Lords and Ladies. The theme set by Lady Sigveldt Brume was "The Glory of Southbay".Prize
The winner would be granted a supply of construction materials and labour equivalent to 6 Revenue, enough to build a store or workshop from scratch in any settlement, or to significantly improve an existing one. This would be provided by House Brume of The Green.Results
The Art competition was won by Ashter Massey with his entry a plush toy horse intended for the education of Squires. He received a reward in the form of construction materials and labour to establish a workshop to produce his toys.Archery Competition
In Whodon Shela Blackwood would lead a shooting competition against the Whodon Grouse Flock. Competitors would be scored on number of birds, with ties being broken by the largest single kill.Prize
The winner would receive the service of a Military Unit of Shela's Thieftakers, equivalent to a Rank 2 Mercenary Company for a full season, to assist with opposing crime, supporting military actions, or simply earning coin depending on the winner's needs, to be taken at the time of the winner's choosing.Result
The archery competition was won by Anabes Justmann with no less than a full dozen grouse bagged.Cooking Competition
In The City of Southbay itself, House Blackmyre of Blackmyre would host a cooking competition with a wide variety of fields, including preserves, cakes, wines, cured meats and many more. Prizes would include trinkets, trophies and small purses of cash. Aside from the portions taken by members of House Blackmyre to judge, the winning entries in each category would be served to the guests at Gladewood House, while the other competitors would be added to the foods provided to the needy in the city as part of the ongoing Festival of the Stormwyrm.Result
Julienna Blest's Apple Sauce won the cookery competition and was greatly enjoyed by the guests at Gladewood House.Athletics Competition
In and around the ruins of Caulstid ser Arlow Teeze would host a series of atheletic competitions intended to test a number of physical capabilities - javelin throwing; disc throwing; shot put; caber toss; long jump; a sprint and a longer race on the road through the old settlement; a swimming race between two stretches of beach under the cliffs below the castle; a cross-country race through the woods near the ruins; and finally a long race from Caulstid to The City of Southbay.The events would take place over the course of two days, alternating between races and other activities.
Competitors would be scored by their placing in each event, and the competitor with the lowest overall score (placing highest in each field) would win.
Prize
The winner of the competition would win 3 Revenue, the second place 1 Revenue and the third place a new Longsword forged to suit their preferences.Results
Captain Elyse Paxtan of House Southbay of Southbay won the competition. Following her knighthood by ser Allon Southbay she used the winner's purse to outfit herself with new armour and weapons from the Stowleake Smithy.Captain Jaena Mooton of House Foxworth of Fairstrand came second. She used her winnings to purchase new heavy armour for her Military Unit. Finally, Captain Calrinn Swann of House Hewlett of Caulstid came third, winning a new Longsword.
