Lord Tylan Hewlett Character in Greland | World Anvil

Lord Tylan Hewlett

  • Player Character of Adahm David Keene
  • Lord Tylan Hewlett

Jump to Gameplay Section   Tylan Hewlett is the grandson of Marielyn and Master Sammen Hewlett. He is the fourth child of Dorthy Hewlett, Captain of the Merry Maiden. He grew up much closer to Minella Volmark-Hewlett, his mother's second spouse, than to Dorthy or Darvin Hewlett, much to his grandmother's delight.   At his twenty-first birthday Tylan was gifted The Lucky Tern, a speedy Cutter designed by his grandfather Master Sammen Hewlett, and he has commanded it ever since.   In August of 443KS, after several minor contributions to The Southbay Duchy's successful campaign to depose House Darklyn of Darklyn Point, Tylan entered into a deal to betray The Bandits in Old Caulstid to ser Allon Southbay in exchange for becoming a landed Lord of The Kingdom of Somercrag. He was granted the Lordship of Caulstid and a marriage was arranged with Lady Nalia Sawler, the daughter of The King's Chancellor.   He gave up command of The Lucky Tern to his former First Mate Jaeda Cheswright who he also appointed as his Spymaster.

    Physical Description

    Apparel & Accessories

As with many Hillhurst folk, Tylan dresses in a lush, eye-catching fashion. As a trader, his own garb is often the first advertisement a customer will see for the wares he carries, and so his clothing incorporates a variety of materials - light, patterned linens and silks from The Lamas Plains, woven fabrics and wools, richly dyed velvets from the kingdoms of Greland and lush furs made from the hides of exotic beasts from distant lands. But his clothing serves another purpose. Many of the items he wears are false - his shirt merely a cuff and collar sewn into his doublet, which is in turn sewn into the richly decorated waistcoat. In fact what appears to be a complexly layered outfit is held together with a single row of buttons, able to be shed in a few quick movements. Below these layers he wears a modest linen shirt and woolen hose, the sort of clothing that would be sure to go unnoticed on the streets of any of Greland's towns cities, or moving about its docks, or even on the deck of any of its ships. Should anyone try to describe Tylan, they are sure to mention his feathered cap, his rich blue wooolen coat or some other garment he wears. But he can shed these like a snake sheds its skin, and move camouflaged amongst the very people seeking him. More than once a victim has realized too late a costly trick that has been played upon them, only for their search for revenge to end frustrated with a pile of abandoned clothing in an alleyway and the rapidly retreating shape of the Tern on the horizon.

      Name Damage Critical Range Qualities
Knife 1 3 Engaged Light; Slashing
