Queen Malina's Declaration to ser Sola's Vanguard
To the Leal Knights of Somercrag who have won great renown riding in the company of ser Sola of House Somercrag,
It is with deep regret that we must inform you of Lady Sola's death at the hands of the treacherous Duke Brennar Hayford. We understand that he has created a vast and complex conspiracy, so we do not currently hold you or any of your fellow knights travelling with ser Sola at fault.
The traitorous Duke himself is dead, ser Sola's death having been avenged by a last minute change of heart by the Duke's former sworn knight Ser Edam Bracks. Ser Edam, as a close confidant of the Duke has lain his conspiracy bare to us. It seems that all of the recent events involving House Hayford were staged in order to draw out ser Sola in order for the Duke and his men to make an attempt on her life.
As a result, House Hayford has been stripped of its lands and titles. The Duchy passes to Ser Mitchar, ser Sola's youngest brother, who will be founding House Hespeak and taking Haycastle as his seat.
Ser Kyra Crowler is to be permitted to retake her seat in Allerton and rule there unmolested. As Duke Mitchar currently holds this castle I trust there will be no issues there.
Ser Edgarth, the former Duke's son, is to be brought to Bayglen immediately to serve the Queen until such a time as she deems fit to end this arrangement.
Those knights travelling in your company who were formerly sworn to House Hayford are summoned to Bayglen to renew their oaths of fealty before the Queen and their new Duke.
The other knights travelling in your company are instructed to disband and disperse, return each to your own seats and mind your own lands for a time, lest your involvement with house Hayford and your absence from ser Sola's side at the time of her death be brought under closer scrutiny.
Mattheo Foxworth is to be brought to Bayglen immediately. He will be taken to visit Fairstrand for an upcoming tourney, and to see his father renew his oaths to Prince Dalran, the heir to House Somercrag, serving as a proxy for the Queen.
