High Priest Jayner Joric
High Priest Jayner Joric is the head of The Church. As High Priest, Jayner is able to enable and instruct the military arm of the Church - the Paladins, and influence the The Inquisition in the Well of Light to take on the cases he deems more urgent to address.
Tradition
As High Priest, he gets to select his surname, as all other servants of the Church take either 'Of Light' or 'Of Gold' as their surnames. Jayner chose the surname Joric after reading a passage in the Celestial Tome about being the servant of the people of Hausken. He remebered the name of the very first person he healed after becoming Ascended and part of the Church - Timothy Joric, and decided that this would be a fitting surname to remind him of where he had come from, who he had helped, and the impact on those around him.Jayner's Celestial
Jayner was selected to be groomed for High Priest when he entered the Church many years ago. Because of this, Jayner had to wait until the previous High Priest died to inherrit the Celestial. During the bonding process, the Celestial shares memories of its previous blended lives, granting Jayner with a vast knowledge of the Church, its history, and its secrets. It is known that the Celestial blended with Jayner has it's own name - Tulenicia.Relationships
