Dougal defends Balthazar in the High Inquisition carried out by the Church.

Dougal calls on Prof Tarris, and on Zaya and Seth to testify on Balthazar's behalf. Something happens when Seth calls upon powers of the ring, and Dougal collapses. Dougal's arguments are heard and Judgement is unsatisfied with the result. He is sentenced on release but must attend the Church's learnings on a regular basis to ensure the Celestial is given all the adequate time to enhance via the Light as possible.
