Elf
asúsuíərua acht (/asˠuːˈsˠiəɾˠuə axt̪ˠ/ , longing person in Elven)
Elves are a race of nomadic people. Thousands of years ago, they used to reside in lush forests where the walls between the material and the Feywild were thinnest. Now, elves are known to sail around the world in flotillas or live in mixed-racial cities. While elves live long, they have a low offspring rate.
Elves have been in a diaspora from their ancestra forests and almost all lived as nomadic sailors in the Seafoam Clusters since their expulsion thousands of years ago. Recently, the nation of Llolani manifested with a rumored stable portal to the Faelands. A subrace of elves, known as Eladrin, stepped through the portal and preached about the true destiny and nature of elves. They are truly meant to be immortal, magical people, according to the Eladrin.
The majority of the diaspora elves embraced this message and immigrated to Llolani. Others considered it unreasonable or distasteful and rejected it. The elves, and their various subraces, have been in conflict since.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves have a few distinguishing qualities. Collectively, these are often refered as "elfin" features.
Their ears are long, slenter, and pointed (the top peak about 4-6 centimeters in adults). Most point back, but some elves have ears that stick out. The cartilage is flexible but quite strong. The cheekbones are high and prominent. The brow angles up near the temples and tends to be less pronounced than a human's. The nose tends to be thin in width, but it can have a variety of shapes from the side similar to a human (e.g. hooked, upturned). The iris is proportionately larger than a human's and, similarly, the pupil can expand to a larger size. Like humans, they are bipedal. Their frames tend to be smaller, their digits tend to be more delicate, and their joints are more flexible.
Elven hair can grow in a wide range of colors and textures. Colors tend to be brown, black, blonde, or copper-red. Textures usually tend to be fine and straight, but some elven families have tight curls, thick hair, or waved hair texture.
Elves have thinner teeth than a human and four more teeth in the mouth.
Biological Traits
Many elves have a naturally strong bloodline tied to magic. This magic can manifest in a variety of ways, such as supernatural dexterity or spells.
Elves do not need to fall unconscious to rest. They can elect to slip into a meditative state every night for a few hours, which gives their body time to heal and restore itself.
Genetics and Reproduction
Most elves (notable exception includes the eladrin) are able to breed with humans and create half-elven children. Rarely, an elf can breed with an orc or dwarf. While an elf's lineage is connected to the Faelands, their soul is not aspected as fae. Elves are continual breeders, but have a low fertility rate compared to other species. A practicing eladrin couple can expect one child every 7-14 years.
Growth Rate & Stages
A healthy elf ages at a rate of three times a healthy human. A typical elf could reach the following milestones:
- Adolescence at year 40
- Adulthood at year 55
- Death from old age at year 225

Ancient naturally flourished in lands rich with deciduous forests and woodlands, but more recent generations of elves have taken to a nomadic lifestyle on the water as voyagers.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Elves are omnivores who favor fresh fish and freshly harvested aquatic plants.
