Aberlanve
Located in Central Aknir, Aberlanve is a major land hub between North and South Aknir and is often travelled through by those that cant afford the ferry from Sernos to Noma. As such, Aberlanve is laid out with a large through street prominently advertising several General Stores, Inns, and a Temple to Boudicca that also doubles as a raucous tavern.
Demographics
Large Dwarven population in a lower middle class relative to Aknir. The Humans in the city are often in poverty, unable to keep up with the traditions of the long living dwarves.
Government
By Aberlanve tradition, the people of Aberlanve vote for three potential lords of the settlement, the candidates often having military training, then the reigning sovereign of Aknir chooses among the candidates who will govern. The position is absolutist and goes either until the lords death, or in extremes, until the people of Aberlanve hold a vote of no confidence with a supermajority of 70 percent of potential voters (abstained votes are considered to be a vote of confidence toward the lord). People are expected to begin voting at the age of 14, whether they are dwarvish, human, or even elven.
Defences
The proximity of The Wound has inspired a wall to be erected around the city as a preventative measure, a garrison of troops stationed within a highly intricately formed stone barracks that work as a miniature fortress for the citizens to hide in at times of emergency.
Industry & Trade
Aberlanve has built their city within a massive stone quarry, within which also houses a large amount of coal and taconite to be dug up and shipped to Sernos, for which they are compensated.
Infrastructure
The Dwarves of Aberlanve are master stonemasons, building structurally immaculate stone buildings with intricate basements for storing foods, ales, and other items that should not be exposed to the Akniri heat of summer.
