Saturn Mountains
The Saturn Mountains are an impressive geographic feature of northern Hadean that ranges in an 2,000 km (500 mi) north to south and as much as 500 km at its widest. The Saturn Mountains stretch from the Sarpadian Crescent all the way to the edge of Ojasi controlled territory in the north. The highest peaks of the southern Saturn Mountains are Athatonas and Eastern Alps at more than 6,000m and the tallest in the north is the dreaded Yaseli Siggapp at more than 8,000m in height.
The mean height of the mountain peaks is 2.5 km (1.6 mi) with a tencdency to be taller in the north than the south. There are numerous valley plains in the southern portion of the Saturn Mountains, many of which have been settled
There are 3 wide passes through Jorentes Kingdom controlled territory, with the main pass cutting through the Jorentes capital Solis Major. All 3 passes are very heavily guarded. There are many other smaller passes linking the many settlements.
Glaciers are typically straight rivers of ice, long sweeping rivers, spread in a fan-like shape with curtains of ice hanging from their edges.
Fauna & Flora
There are many monsters and beasts that make their home in the Saturn Mountains, taking advantage of the great protection the mountains offer.
In addition to the many human, dwarven and gnome settlements, there are many known tribes of giants that make their home here. The Goreo hill giant tribe that occupies the area north of Jorentes is an unusually well organised hill giant tribe with unknown thousands in its ranks that pose an ongoing and present threat to all who dwell nearby. Frost Giant jarldoms and Storm Giants become more and more common the higher and morth northerly a traveller goes.
