Germand of Castle Grey
Ealdorman Germand (a.k.a. Greyhound)
Germand's life was one filled with struggle and sorrow. He was left on the door step of the Black Dagger keep of Castle Grey as an infant. Never knowing his parents he grew up in Castle Grey and was raised by the Black Daggers.
He lived his life on the roads. Tracking down and hunting monsters for money. He slew monsters like Spitters and Draugr, but he also battled greater monsters as well such as Latchabos and Wyverns. Being a Black Dagger Germand was taught to stay out of political affairs and conflicts but he would have no other choice. When the Snake War first started the Nathair took all of the Dagger Holds, killing all of the Daggers who were in the keeps. Then they drove the humans out of The Vale and so Germand fled with everybody else.
When the migration stopped in Tir Orail Germand was a part of a community that built up a nice little village and the Dagger settled down into a calmer life. Over time he protected the town from the plethora of surrounding monsters. Germand was the only trained warrior in the villager and over time he took the role of a leader. Germand married a woman he from the village he had grown to care for and together they founded Greenhaven and Germand became the lord of the village.
He and his wife had one child together. They named their son Filavandrel, and elven name as a show of peace to their new neighbors. Germand did not raise his son however. A guild of dragon riders came to Greenhaven. They wished to take and train Filavandrel to become the first human dragon rider. Germand gave Filavandrel over to the dragon riders and would not see him for another 18 years.
Germand was alive to see the retaking of The Vale. Once the land was back under human control Germand set out to rebuild his fractured guild. He rounded up survivors and helped to train a new generation of Black Daggers. Castle Grey was renamed to Ger Hold in his honor. The monster hunter's life had been going well but that would soon change. A vampire he had mistakenly taken a contract on found his way to Greenhaven with a party of vampires and killed Germand and his wife.
