Uhtred is the first born child of Veli Riderson. Only 17 summers old but he aspires to be a warrior like his father and his grandfather. He wields the potential for his fathers gift but he struggles to control it. At his young age he has already given an oath to his father, not as his father but as chieftain. At the age of five he was wandering around his home village of Alton when a wolf attacked him. Uhtred faced the wolf not sacred. The boy managed to kill the wolf with a rock. The wolf however did put up a fight and hurt Uhtred and gave him a lasting scar on his face. Uhtred's birth right was taken from him when it was taken from his father. Both Veli's and Uhtred's destiny is Greenhaven
