The Halen Democracy

Structure

Batuna is officially the leader of the Halen Democracy even though she has left the mortal plain. Now she communicates in her true, phyiscal form with the Sea-Seer.

Culture

Halen culture is built around freedom, the vices of the city, and pirating. Even though there are mostly just drunken pirates and orcish raiders, the small nation is very accepting of newcomers.

Public Agenda

The Halen Democracy has no long-term goal except for the survival of their nation.

Assets

The Halen Democracy is rich, with an even richer people. Its literally god-led anarchist style mixed with its constant raids make it one of the best nations in the Nine Realms to reside in. Constant immigrants flow in from Greidr and the Archipelago Kingdoms, let alone other realms. Oppressed groups such as tieflings and minotaurs arrive the most often.

History

Refer to the Nine Realm Historical Timeline.

Demography and Population

The entire population lives in Haven, since the entire nation is one city. Most of the people in Haven are refugees from the Archipelago Kingdoms or other racist/xenophobic nations.

Territories

The Halen Democracy owns all of Halen Isle, a small bit of land.

Military

The Halen Democracy, if ever invaded, enforces the will of Batuna by summoning massive water elementals to rampage through invading fleets. The rest of the 'military' are simply pirates that go on raids- donating 20% of their goods and wealth to the community.

Technological Level

The Halen Democracy has no scientists or engineers, just shipbuilders attempting to create better navies. All other new tech comes from other nations.

Agriculture & Industry

The Halen Democracy has many fishermen, but not enough to feed everyone. Instead they gather most from imports or raids.

Trade & Transport

The Halen trade with Elasvura via ship. They import food and export their raided goods.

Education

The Halen Democracy has no education system since they have no room to build enough schools. Instead they take on the practice of apprenticeship. If a teenager wanted to go into navigating, they would become an apprentice of a navigator.

Infrastructure

The Halen Democracy has very tight streets because they have such little room to build.

Mythology & Lore

The Halen Democracy's mythology comes from its very leader; Batuna.

Divine Origins

Fifty years ago the pirate lord Batuna discovered a new piece of land and claimed it as her own. She stationed her fleets there and began working on the utopia it is today.
