Elf
Elves are found throughout Khalon with their population largely centered in the south of the continent in the nation of Morenthyr. Until the Great Revolt, elves were the dominant race on the continent.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are a naturally slender and athletic race. Elves had a similar range of complexions to humans, with towndwellers typically having coppery or pale skinned and rural elves having darker pigmentation. Often, elven hair was dark, either brown or black, although copper red or blond hair is not uncommon. Elven eyes are commonly brown, hazel, or an emerald green. Elves are considered by most sentient races to be fair and beautiful. Some of their defining body features are pointed ears and no body hair except eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair.
Growth Rate & Stages
Elves mature at roughly the same rate as humans, though they are not usually considered past adolescence until they reach 25 years of age. Unlike humans, elves do not age dramatically as their lifespan comes to a close, with the most obvious changes being a change in hair color, alternatively graying or darkening. Most elves remain healthy and full of life up until their death, which, if age-related, is typically a little after their second century.
Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Elvish is the primary spoken language of the elves. Due to Morenthyr's centuries of dominance, Elvish is the Lingua Franca of the continent. Two distinct dialects of Elvish exist split between the eastern and western portions of Morenthyr.
History
Elven oral traditions state the first elves who came to Khalon traveled on log ships across the sea, landing in what is now Thal'Narius around -800 BE. From there, elves diffused outwards through the Jungles of Theyennor. Eventually the elven people would be united in 0 EE under the Pact of Unification laying the framework for present-day Morenthyr.
