Alcedene Barracks

Purpose / Function
The barracks' primary purpose most of the time is to house guards from the Guard Force that are bachelors, providing free room and board. It also serves as an armory, a jail, and a keep for desperate times.
Alterations
Aside from repairs and typical maintenance, the barracks have remained largely unchanged since the Year 264.
The exception is that over the last few years, Deputy Cerin Clanless has been meticulously carving abjuration runes into the stone facade blocking divination and attack spells.
Architecture
The barracks are three floors above ground, with each floor holding ten 8x10 rooms, which are furnished to house two people but can fit as many as six comfortably. Additionally, the cellars beneath the barracks have eight 8x10 cells, one of which is lined with carcolite-infused concrete and abjuration runes to negate spellcasting. Located at key junctions are extra Balatar kit for the militia as well as some crossbows, shields, spears, and swords. Below the prisons are the town's long term food stores and a well.
History
Built by the original founders of Alcedene, the barracks have witnessed every bounty and hardship of the town.
