Citadel Cynosure

Purpose / Function

The Citadel is clearly some sort of military stronghold from antiquity. Aside from that, nothing is known about how or why it was built.

Alterations

All attempts to alter the Citadel have failed; there simply aren't tools hard enough to carve the stone.

Architecture

There are only twelve stones in the Citadel, carved in complex patterns that fit perfectly together. At no seam of stone can so much as a blade of grass penetrate. The stone itself is harder than any known stone, and the locals bill it as unbreakable.

Defenses

The Citadel contains numerous arrowslits, trapdoors, and killdrops to supplement an array of gates and matriculations. The mysterious builders were well versed in tactics and strategy, and it's said that a dozen men could hold off an army of any size for months within the walls.
