The Darian Pirates
The Darian pirates were a violent and large general group of criminals and bandits that sailed and raided within the waters of The Darian Isles and its surrounding oceans. The Isles always had problems with piracy since its creation, but in the year 1880, the terrorism in The Isles increased more and more as organized leadership began to form within criminal circles, with warlords allying and cooperating with each other since they saw the value in working together for their short-term goals. Soon, though, after the pirates got even more organized and well-equipped, the leaders figured that they could take control of The Darian Isles if they were able to work together enough and organize into one whole threat. After this realization, the warlords and pirates continued to wreak havoc in The Darian Isles, with their one dream of controlling all The Isles in mind. The military was able to hold the pirates back to some extent, but as time went on, it got harder and harder to defend their islands since the pirates participated in hit-and-run attacks as well as guerilla warfare. Over time, the military continued to weaken as the pirates gained more control and influence over the waters. The Yem Alliance and Xararten saw the pirate's actions near their waters early on and treated them as they did concerning The Ral War. They stayed neutral and protected their own interests. The two allied nations made sure that on the day that they made their pact and alliance with each other concerning The Ral War, they would also address the growing terrorism in The Isles. The allied nations eventually met and promised the sea fairing criminals that they would leave them alone and just wanted trade access to the waters around The Isles. The pirates needed money, and so they demanded gold and silver from the nations if they were to leave their ships alone. Xararten and The Yem Alliance both gave them the money to maintain their neutrality and continue their trade.
Throughout the many years to come, the Darian pirates continued to clash with The Darian Isles. It began as a terrorist presence, but as time went on, the water in the eastern south morphed into an active war zone by the year 1930.
This conflict, which was simply called the era of Darian Terrorism, came to an end in The Takeover Of Therem, which was an operation where the most skilled warriors and pirates raided and attacked the important cities on the capital island of Therem to force them to surrender after so much fighting. It ended in victory for the pirates, and they soon took control over the entire Darian Isles afterward.
After the era of Darian Terrorism, the era of Darian Rebellion began, where rebel cells loyal to the old government and administration of The Darian Isles formed and fought against the occupying criminal Darian pirates with limited support from The Aiden League, which sympathized with their cause. They viewed the occupying pirates as a minor threat that could possibly join the larger Tar Faction and Salican Dynasty.
After the takeover of The Isles, the pirates made a financial alliance with The Tar Faction, led by Heaenden. He took a liking to them and viewed the pirates as a similar faction that could give them aid in the war he was fighting. He liked them since they lived like his people did and organized like his government did. As a result, the pirates gave their support for The Tar Faction and Salican Dynasty in The Ral War. The pirates also took an unofficial and neutral approach to Reasonarick when they split in the 147th of 1926. As a result, for who they supported and how they came to power, Ral and The Aiden League put tariffs on them in protest.
During the reign of the pirates in The Isles, from The Takeover Of Therem in the 301st of 1932 to their fall and surrender in the 212th of 1957, the general state of The Darian Isles during their control was a state of control, crime, and rebellion. The Darian rebels were not as organized as they should have been, and as a result, the tyrannical reign of the Darian pirates lasted a long time. Rebellion was either individual people allying with each other to riot against their new government, or it was the former people of the old military and government taking back their old ships, weapons, and equipment and having more organized revolts.
The pirates surrendered in the 212th of 1957 because, after The Ral War, they realized that since the rebels had already received equipment from the three nations of The Aiden League, that same League might get more involved in their business since the war in the west was over, and they could turn their eyes south. Also, during this time, more and more of the people were fighting back, and more and more of the villages on the various islands were in open revolt, so even though the pirates could have stayed in control, they decided to negotiate and begin with a surrender. If the leaders of the pirates received light punishment for their actions and crimes and got time to properly disband themselves and have their pirates leave The Isles, they would give complete control back to the original government. The Aiden League put the main leaders and warlords in prison cells in their various nations, and the time in prison was more comfortable than it usually would be. The rest of the pirates disbanded, and the lower criminals decided to find work elsewhere within Lasarian. Most of them joined some of the Remnants Of The Tar Faction.
Piracy would still exist within The Isles and was and always would be a major problem, but The Darian Isles regained their control, and the main and organized threat of the pirates ended along with The Ral War.
Structure
Warlords and leaders all worked together with an unofficial and loose hierarchy.
Disbandment
They officially surrendered to the rebels of the former Darian Isles and Aiden League on the 212th of 1957.
Foreign Relations
When the pirates were in power, they had a neutral relation with Xararten and The Yem Alliance, a friendly one with The Tar Faction and Salican Dynasty, an unofficial friendly stance with Reasonarick, an unfriendly relationship with Ral and the three nations of The Aiden League, where they got taxed and felt threatened by at the end of The Ral War, and finally a hostile one with the people and officials of The Darian Isles.
DISBANDED/DISSOLVED
The pirates had no central government, and instead had individual warlords that governed individual regions and commanded their own criminal factions. They had a governance and alliance system that was similar to
The Tar Faction, where powerful criminal families and factions worked together in a single organization.
They always existed but organized more in the 89th Of 1880 - The organized ones surrendered in the 212th Of 1957 but they still existed and would always exist
