Darkness demons are very rare for multiple reasons. One of them is their reproduction. The only moment a darkness demon can reproduce is during a terrible event. During the conception the surrounding negative emotions, fear, anger, hatred, despair, sadness, agony, etc, are absorbed and transformed into darkness that will power the newborn darkness demon.

Their state as a baby doesn't last long. A day in the life of a newborn darkness demon is like a month in the life of a human. This accelerated growth lasts till the demon is approximately 36 days old. At this moment the first ribbons of their coat of darkness appear. Their aging now progresses similarly to humans.

Your coat of darkness is your main protection. Most attacks can't harm you as long as they hit the coat. The protection that it provides increases as your control of it's size and shape does.Depending on your level the effects are:
- lvl 1: +1 to AC
- lvl 5: +2 to AC
- lvl 10: +3 to AC
- lvl 15: +4 to AC and immunity to nonmagical attacks.
- lvl 20: +5 to AC and immunity to nonmagical attacks.
You start with 1 demonic energy point at lvl 1 and gain one additional point per level. Your points recharge after long rest.
Teleportation
You disappear in a small cloud or darkness and reappear from another cloud of darkness in another place. You can teleport up to 100 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see. Using this expands 1 demonic energy.Combat teleportation
During combat you can expand 3 points of to use this ability for one round. You teleport all around the battlefield making attacks against enemies. You teleport next to them, attack and vanish the same instant just to appear at the next enemy and repeat the process.Play it like this: You character does not occupy a single square but a sphere of 50ft radius centered on your starting point. When declaring an attack, you decide from which spots you want to attack. You can make up to 3 attacks against any enemies in the range. Enemies can make attacks against any squares that the you attacked from during your previous turn but have to succeed at a Dexterity check (dc 15) first or their attack automatically fails.
The effect ends at the start of your next turn.
At lvl 6 increase the number of attacks to 4, lvl 10 to 5 attacks, at lvl 15 6 attacks and at lvl 20 6 attacks.

Shape the darkness
You are able to use the darkness of your coat to shapeshift yourself. The darkness surrounds you and takes the shape of the creature you want to transform into. However you are still made of darkness and retain the darkness appearance. You also can't transform into anything smaller than yourself.The transformation lasts for 5 turns, or until the you drop to 0 Hit Points, or die, or cancel the effect. The new form can be any creature whose Challenge rating is equal to or less than your level level. Your physical game Statistics (STR, DEX, CON) are replaced by the Statistics of the chosen creature. You retain your other statistics, Alignment and Personality.
You assume the Hit Points of your new form. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of Hit Points you had before you transformed. If you revert as a result of dropping to 0 Hit Points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form. As long as the excess damage doesn't reduce your normal form to 0 Hit Points, you aren't knocked Unconscious.
You are limited in the Actions you can perform by the Nature of your new form. You can't use spell or any other actions from your original form. You can however speak. All attacks done in this form are treated as darkness element magical attacks.
Your gear melds into your new form. You can't activate, use, wield, or otherwise benefit from any of your Equipment. This ability costs 5 demonic energy.
